Afshin Hosseiny to Speak at 4th Qualified Person Conference in Barcelona

Tabriz Consulting’s principal pharmaceutical quality consultant, Afshin Hosseiny, will once again share his experience and insight into the world of the qualified person at the European QP Association’s forthcoming QP Forum.

The Forum is designed by QPs for QPs and is fast becoming a major event for European qualified persons as an International expert Forum. Speakers from the EMEA and various national authorities as well as QPs, will meet this year in Barcelona 3-4 December.

Over the past few years the role and duties of the qualified person have steadily increased in significance and scope. Being the key person in the quality function of a pharmaceutical company, the QP has to consider a multitude of issues to comply with market legislation. Hoping to continue the success of the QP Forum, the advisory board of the QP Association have once again invited representatives from the regulatory authorities, working QPs and a panel of well-known experts, to discuss the latest issues and update delegates about recent developments and important matters to consider.

As a pharmaceutical quality consultant of many years standing, Afshin is well known and widely respected on the conference circuit. He has substantial experience of the QP role both as a working QP and through provision of QP Services and Interim QA Management on behalf of Tabriz Consulting. He has presented at the QP forum every year since its inception and this year teams up with senior MHRA inspector, John Taylor, to deliver one of three pre-conference workshops.

John and Afshin have worked together many times before and their workshop So Much Work, So Little Time will attempt to guide the practicing QPs on the art of delegation of activities and provide useful hints on how to supervise the work done by setting up secure and clear systems. It will cover:

  • How to find suitable personnel to delegate to
  • Defining the boundaries when delegating
  • Training a support for staff
  • How to supervise delegated task
  • How to manage the regulator’s expectations

The Forum is designed for all QPs and aspiring QPs. It also addresses upper management functions and authority representatives who want to be informed about the latest development regarding the duties and responsibilities of the QP. During the pre-conference workshops and the six parallel sessions at the Forum, various case studies will be presented and discussed in order to come up with possible solutions. Why not make use of this event to exchange experiences and to establish informal contacts to facilitate networking?
