The US pharma industry registered a 0.9% decline in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 2.45% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.47% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US pharma industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.48% in June 2021, a 1.62% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.12% share, an increase of 7.67% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.04%, registering a 6.13% decline from May 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 13.44%, down 8.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.95% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US pharma industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
HCA Healthcare posted 180 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a drop of 14.29% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 171 jobs and a 1.79% growth. Landmark Health with 99 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 81 jobs, recorded a 15.12% growth and a 27.03% decline, respectively, while Chemed recorded a 74.29% an increase with 61 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.04%, down by 24.83% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.93% share, a growth of 32.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.75% share, up 52.73% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.28%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 52.38%.
