It allows patients to search for clinical trials for conditions they might have, or trials that are taking place in their area.

They also have the option to request more information, receive notifications, or apply to take part directly through the app.

The NeighborhoodTrials mobile app connects to the NeighborhoodTrials platform that is already used by healthcare specialists for the recruitment of participants, screening, and enrolment, and communication with participants throughout the trial.

It contributes to advancements in medical research, and trial participants can also receive treatments, gift cards, or stipends compensating them for their time.

The company stated that the app will also help sponsors comply with the guidance of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the diversity of race and ethnicity in clinical trials.

M&B Sciences CEO Dr Eddilisa Martin said: “We want to make it easier for sponsors to have representation across races, ethnicity, gender and gender identity, age, and geographies.

“Some of these patients may have limited access to healthcare, and they may not even realise a clinical trial can be a care option for them. A smartphone may be their primary source of reliable internet access.

“The NeighborhoodTrials app makes it easy for them to find potentially life-saving information at their fingertips while improving the safety and effectiveness of drugs and devices.”

The company is focused on supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare clients by bringing innovation, efficiency, and equity to clinical trials.
