Science 37 has entered a multi-year partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enable quicker and patient-friendly clinical research.

Under the tie-up, both organisations will work towards expediting the adoption of the Science 37 Metasite, which helps clinical trial sponsors safely communicate with patients outside of conventional clinical trial sites.

The partnership also allows Science 37 to join AWS’ Partner Network (APN), enabling the company to expand its services to additional clients and providers.

In addition, Science 37 will be able to use AWS’ analytics and machine learning (ML) solutions to enhance decision-making and promote patient safety and minimise the duration of trials.

Science 37 chief commercial officer Michael Shipton said: “We are excited to join the AWS Partner Network where we expect to leverage the global scale, expertise, and security of AWS to reach more customers.

“We also see an opportunity to expand our network of partners to support patient recruitment and methods of clinical conduct through these relationships, to deliver faster, more inclusive, patient-friendly clinical research.”

The company aims to expedite clinical research by providing patients with clinical trial access.

In November 2022, Science 37 announced a partnership with clinical research platform BEKHealth to expand participant access through community providers.

AWS Healthcare and Life Sciences general manager Dan Sheeran said: “AWS helps power the entire clinical development process—from designing effective trials using analytics and ML capabilities to unlocking virtual trial capabilities to accelerating the regulatory submission process.

“We look forward to working with Science 37 to extend the capabilities and scale of the Metasite to help patients and providers globally and enable their continued innovation.

“AWS will continue to support Science 37 as they work to modernise clinical research with faster trial enrolment, increased patient retention, and more diverse patient populations.”
