Medidata said that this capability simplifies trial oversight, and offers easy access and data visualisation for clinical operations teams to gain better insights into a clinical trial’s enrolment and progress.

Medidata president and cofounder Glen de Vries said: “By creating a seamless data flow between EDC and CTMS on a consolidated platform study teams have a single source of truth and access to data in real time, in any application.”

In addition, Medidata’s data-driven CTMS is said to enable Smith & Nephew to boost its study portfolio by breaking down data silos and enable focus on critical aspects of a trial.

Clinical operations teams are also set to benefit from single data entry, and an option to find, access and reuse EDC data. Moreover, the functionality is said to avoid expensive integrations, duplicate data entry, data reconciliation and manual tracking activities.
