What is Investments?
The Investments category looks at any significant financial investments into a company or its assets, specifically those investments that facilitate expansion of a company’s operations. This can be an investment by the company itself into its operations or by an outside investor be that another company, financial institution, private equity or venture capital firm.
Themes
This research period’s investment trends in clinical trials have predictably been dominated by covid 19, with investment in flu vaccines and mental illness treatments a close second.
A notable focus for the covid-related trials has been the safe application of covid drugs and vaccines in high risk demographics such as pregnant women and the elderly.
Trials that look into the implications of long covid and postinfection immunisation strategies have also received funding.
Finally, some investment has also been flowing towards health tech platforms such as Oncoshot.
