The Excellence Awards celebrate the greatest achievements and innovations in the industry. The programme provides a platform to recognize the people and companies that are driving change.
Our programme is designed to highlight excellence within the sector by looking at a range of corporate activities including deals, business projects and company initiatives, both internal and in the community.
What is Social?
The Social category includes companies and institutions that have undertaken projects that have had a tangible positive impact on the communities where they operate. This can include anything from charity initiatives; sponsorship; community outreach; local business support and education initiatives.
Socially oriented projects in the clinical trials industry have mainly focused on providing access to clinical trials and generating clinical trial awareness.
One way has been through the use of crowdsourcing platforms like CureClick. The platform was the first of its kind in the world when it was established in 2013 and has recently been taken over by clinical technology and consulting service provider Thread.
Taking note of the success of platforms like CureClick, Health2047 which is a subsidiary of The American Medical Association (Ama) has spun out a portfolio company called SiteBridge Research, which aims to provide clinical trial access for small and community physician practices.
Dedicated clinical trials software, often using AI and cloud technology, have also contributed to clinical trials access by shortening waiting times and improving overall efficiency.
