February 2021 has seen a increase of 13.65% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.38% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2021, registering increase of 0.35% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 54.49% in February 2021, a 19.75% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.07% in February 2021, marking a 4% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.88% in February 2021, a 51.85% growth from January 2021.

Top five pharma companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in February 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 56.19% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry during February 2021 over previous month.

S&P Pharmaceutical posted 48 IT jobs in February 2021 and registered a decline of 32.39% over the previous month, followed by Parexel International with 45 jobs and a 462.5% growth. Ministry of Health New South Wales with 25 IT jobs and Syneos Health with 24 jobs, recorded a 316.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Novo Nordisk recorded a 10% increase with 22 job postings during February 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 57.1% share in February 2021, an 18.67% rise over January 2021. China featured next with a 14.78% share, up 2% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 13.33% share, a growth of 91.67% compared with January 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.61%, up by 8.54% from January 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.54% share, a growth of 30.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.86% share, up 126.67% over January 2021.
