The Master’s Programme in Clinical Research (MPCR) at DIU educates clinicians, scientists and related professionals with modern forms of clinical research in a blended approach.
Students of MPCR will gain access to de-identified real world data (RWD) from a subset of the hospital network on Clinerion’s Patient Network Explorer platform.
With the advent of real world evidence (RWE) as novel element in the development of innovative drugs, DIU is now offering lectures in the generation of RWE from RWD, for the first time in a teaching programme, in the world.
The collaboration will begin next month, involving students of the 2019/2020 intake and will enable them to learn how to identify student cohorts based on international terminologies, how to test feasibility and ways to improve study protocols with real-time feedback.

By GlobalDataDIU course director Dr Ben Illigens said: “Clinerion data is secure, transparent, scalable and international and therefore a perfect fit for our programme and for our students’ needs.
“In the same way that traditional drug development can be accelerated by the availability of RWE obtained from RWD, the success of this Master’s programme will be accelerated by the possibility to access Clinerion RWD.”
The optimised set of inclusion and exclusion criteria will allow students to access and analyse their respective patient cohort data for their Master’s thesis.
The data results will be presented at international meetings and published in indexed, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
