In 1984, Disetronic was founded by brothers Willy and Peter Michel in Burgdorf, Switzerland. The successful company was the first to introduce a micro insulin pump to the market. In addition to its infusion systems, Disetronic specialized in injection systems. In 2003, co-founder and majority shareholder Willy Michel sold Disetronic’s infusion business to Roche but retained the injection business. That is how Ypsomed was born. Since then, Ypsomed has written its own success story.
