UK-based company AstraZeneca’s IT hiring declined 37.1% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 27.29% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 5.06% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.21% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops AstraZeneca IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by AstraZeneca, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 44.16% in August 2021, and a 63.83% drop over July 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 25.97% in August 2021, and registered a decline of 20%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 12.99% in August 2021, a 37.5% drop from July 2021.
Europe drives IT hiring at AstraZeneca
Europe emerged as the leading region in the global pharma IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 37.66% share, which marked a 50% drop over the previous month.
North America stood next with 36.36%, registering a 49.09% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 24.68% share and a 53.66% drop over July 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.3% and a month-on-month decline of 50%.
Mexico commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 22.08% share in August 2021, a 54.05% decline over July 2021. India featured next with an 18.18% share, down 54.84% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 16.88% share, a decline of 59.38% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead AstraZeneca IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.64%, down by 57.39% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.38% share, a decline of 40% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.79% share, down 25% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 5.19%, recording a month-on-month increase of 33.33%.
