Germany’s pharma industry registered an 8.4% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.27% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.06% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.55% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.75% in August 2021, registering a 32.05% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.22% share, a decrease of 55% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 12.61%, registering a flat growth from July 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 11.71%, up 116.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 30.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. posted 33 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 50% over the previous month, followed by Bayer with 27 jobs and a 68.75% growth. Bausch Health Companies with 10 IT jobs and Boehringer Ingelheim International with 6 jobs, recorded a 62.96% decline and a 20% flat growth, respectively, while AstraZeneca recorded an increase of 150% with 5 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.68%, down by 27.13% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with an 8.11% share, registered an increase of 12.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 6.31% share, down 46.15% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.9%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
