India pharma industry registered a 0.2% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 5.23% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.23% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 2.04% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India pharma industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.87% in July 2021, a 19.91% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.34% share, decline of 41.18% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.24%, registering a 14.81% decline from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 7.53%, down 38.24% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in India IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India pharma industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
AstraZeneca posted 29 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 81.25% over the previous month, followed by Far East Smart Energy with 28 jobs and a 55.56% drop. Novo Nordisk with 28 IT jobs and GlaxoSmithKline with 24 jobs, recorded a 22.22% drop and a 50% increase, respectively, while Cardinal Health recorded a 133.33% an increase with 21 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.65%, down by 6.52% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.69% share, a decline of 36.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.66% share, down 48% over June 2021.
