India pharma industry registered a 4.2% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 6.41% in April 2021 compared with March 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.75% share in April 2021, recording an increase of 1.96% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India pharma industry in April 2021.

Top five pharma companies in India IT recruitment activity in April 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India pharma industry during April 2021 over March 2021.
S&P Pharmaceutical posted 55 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a rise of 25% over the previous month, followed by Novo Nordisk with 26 jobs and a 7.14% drop. Sanofi with 20 IT jobs and GlaxoSmithKline with 16 jobs, recorded a 566.67% growth and a 48.39% decline, respectively, while Cardinal Health recorded a 27.27% an increase with 14 job postings during April 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.49%, up by 31.16% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.81% share, a decline of 35.37% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.7% share, down 50% over March 2021.
