India’s pharma industry registered a 0.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 18.94% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 15.49% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 1.78% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.57% in August 2021, registering a 32.43% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.71% share, an increase of 22.5% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 4.2%, registering a 33.33% decline from July 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 3.9%, down 45.83% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 82.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Eli Lilly and posted 40 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 400% over the previous month, followed by Novo Nordisk Foundation with 30 jobs and a 7.14% growth. GlaxoSmithKline with 24 IT jobs and Bayer with 22 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% flat growth, respectively, while Bracket Global recorded an increase of 425% with 21 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.56%, up by 17.14% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.63% share, registered an increase of 16.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.8% share, up 14.29% over July 2021.
