Middle East & Africa witnessed a 5.1% decline in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
June 2021 has seen an increase of 21.67% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.01% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 1.3% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 57.89% in June 2021, a 35.29% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 21.05% in June 2021, marking a 33.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.79% in June 2021, a 57.14% drop from May 2021.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 5.26% in June 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 28.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during June 2021 over previous month.
DarioHealth posted 3 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by MerckInc with 2 jobs and a 60% drop. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries with 2 IT jobs and Steward Health Care System with 1 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Myndlift recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 36.84% share in June 2021, a 22.22% decline over May 2021. South Africa featured next with a 15.79% share, down 62.5% over the previous month. Lebanon recorded a 10.53% share, a growth of 100% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.16%, down by 60% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with a 26.32% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 10.53% share, down 81.82% over May 2021.
