Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 76.92% in August 2021, a 17.65% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.38% in August 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 3.85% in August 2021, an 80% drop from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 50% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Parexel International posted 6 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 50% over the previous month, followed by DarioHealth with 3 jobs and a flat growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 2 IT jobs and ICON with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% rise, respectively, while MMS Holdings recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 57.69% share in August 2021, an 114.29% increase over July 2021. Israel featured next with a 23.08% share, down 45.45% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 7.69% share, a growth of 100% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.38%, flat growth from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30.77% share, registered a growth of 14.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.85% share, down 66.67% over July 2021.
