IT jobs accounted for a 1.49% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 43.43% in June 2021, a 0.09% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.98% in June 2021, marking an 8.45% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.87% in June 2021, a 4.82% drop from May 2021.

Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.13% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during June 2021 over previous month.
HCA Healthcare posted 180 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 14.29% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 171 jobs and a 1.79% growth. Landmark Health with 99 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 87 jobs, recorded a 15.12% growth and a 22.32% drop, respectively, while Chemed recorded a 74.29% an increase with 61 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 94.35% share in June 2021, a 5.61% decline over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 3.35% share, down 13.59% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.3% share, a growth of 56.41% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.85%, down by 24.21% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.16% share, a growth of 33.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.75% share, up 49.83% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.24%, recording a month-on-month growth of 57.14%.
