Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 40.91% in August 2021, a 25% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 22.73% in August 2021, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 18.18% in August 2021, a flat growth from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 52.94% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during August 2021 over previous month.
F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 8 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 300% over the previous month, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 6 jobs and a 25% drop. Pfizer with 5 IT jobs and Bayer with 4 jobs, recorded a 66.67% rise and a 100% rise, respectively, while Sanofi recorded a 50% increase with 3 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 36.36% share in August 2021, a 6.67% increase over July 2021. Brazil featured next with a 29.55% share, down 31.58% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 20.45% share, a growth of 80% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.45%, up by 10.71% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.91% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.64% share, down 50% over July 2021.
