April 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.74% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.5% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 57.77% in April 2022, a 6.14% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.28% in April 2022, marking a 12.12% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.87% in April 2022, a 10% rise from March 2022.

Top five pharma companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 52.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry during April 2022 over previous month.
F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 97 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 781.82% over the previous month, followed by GlaxoSmithKline with 71 jobs and an 115.15% growth. Ministry of Health, New South Wales, Australia with 34 IT jobs and Bayer with 31 jobs, recorded a 44.26% drop and a 27.91% drop, respectively, while Eli Lilly and recorded a 17.39% increase with 27 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 48.32% share in April 2022, a 13.53% decrease over March 2022. China featured next with a 20.17% share, up 43.28% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 12.82% share, a drop of 19.74% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.56%, down by 4.86% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.68% share, registered a decline of 14.19% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.34% share, up 78.05% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month decline of 83.33%.
