Canada’s pharma industry registered a 17.4% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.81% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.08% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.37% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 104.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s pharma industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 42.48% in February 2022, registering a 40% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 19.47% share, an increase of 4.76% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 17.7%, registering a 150% rise from January 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 15.04%, up 112.5% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 65.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s pharma industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Alberta Health Services posted 34 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 30.77% over the previous month, followed by Sanofi with 13 jobs and a 160% growth. Amgen with 8 IT jobs and Vancouver Coastal Health with 7 jobs, recorded a 166.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Alimentiv recorded a flat growth with 6 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.03%, up by 18.18% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.81% share, registered a decline of 44.12% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.39% share, down 39.13% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.77%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
