China’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity drops 3.1% in February 2022

China’s pharma industry registered a 3.1% drop in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.23% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.69% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 103.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 83.87% in February 2022, registering a 36.59% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 12.9% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 6.45%, registering a 66.67% decline from January 2022.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 11.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Parexel International posted 11 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 266.67% over the previous month, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. Novo Nordisk with 3 IT jobs and Pfizer with 3 jobs, recorded an 81.25% decline and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Eli Lilly and recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.42%, down by 25% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.13% share, registered a decline of 70.59% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.45% share, down 50% over January 2022.
