China’s pharma industry registered a 4.0% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.21% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.31% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 57.58% in October 2022, registering a 17.39% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.15% share, an increase of 150% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.09%, registering a 50% rise from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.09%, down 40% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Parexel International posted 14 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 27.27% over the previous month, followed by AstraZeneca with 3 jobs and a 200% growth. Haleon with 3 IT jobs and Pfizer with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 71.43% decrease, respectively, while MerckInc recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.79%, down by 7.14% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 12.12% share, registered an increase of 300% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 6.06% share, down 50% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 3.03%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
