China’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 10.5% in March 2022

China’s pharma industry registered a 10.5% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.69% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.91% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 76.67% in March 2022, registering a 58.62% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 6.67% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5%, registering a 25% decline from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Parexel International posted 13 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 18.18% over the previous month, followed by Novo Nordisk with 6 jobs and a 100% growth. Merck with 6 IT jobs and Johnson & Johnson with 5 jobs, recorded a 500% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Sanofi recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.33%, up by 57.69% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.33% share, registered an increase of 133.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.67% share, up 100% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.67%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
