Germany’s pharma industry registered an 8.3% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.28% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.16% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.09% in October 2022, registering a 21.05% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 22.73% share, a decrease of 28.57% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 20.45%, registering a 35.71% decline from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.36%, down 61.54% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Curevac posted 5 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 150% over the previous month, followed by Merck with 4 jobs and a 63.64% drop. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 4 IT jobs and Dynamic Biosensors with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Bayer recorded a decline of 57.14% with 3 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.73%, down by 25.58% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.18% share, registered a decline of 46.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.82% share, down 25% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.27%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
