Germany’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity drops 9.0% in May 2022

Germany’s pharma industry registered a 9.0% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 17.69% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.76% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.55% in May 2022, registering a 36.84% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.73% share, an increase of 150% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.91%, registering a 12.5% decline from April 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.55%, down 83.33% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 38.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Bayer posted 13 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 8.33% over the previous month, followed by CompuGroup Medical SEKGaA with 4 jobs and a 60% drop. Fresenius SEKGaA with 4 IT jobs and Evotec with 4 jobs, recorded an 83.33% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Merck recorded an increase of 300% with 4 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 88.64%, down by 15.22% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 6.82% share, registered a decline of 80% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.55% share, flat growth over April 2022.
