India’s pharma industry registered a 9.7% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 12.77% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.28% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.55% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.16% in October 2022, registering a 34.62% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 33.33% share, a decrease of 17.57% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.03%, registering a 13.16% decline from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.38%, down 36.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
AstraZeneca posted 47 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 17.5% over the previous month, followed by Novo Nordisk with 12 jobs and a 47.83% drop. Merck with 12 IT jobs and Eurofins Scientific with 11 jobs, recorded a 57.14% decline and a 56% decrease, respectively, while GSK recorded a decline of 57.69% with 11 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.73%, down by 35% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 39.34% share, registered a decline of 14.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.84% share, down 35.71% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.09%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
