Ireland’s pharma industry registered a 4.6% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.41% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.44% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Ireland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Ireland’s pharma industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.83% in September 2022, registering a 62.5% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 34.48% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.79%, registering a 69.23% decline from August 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.9%, down 33.33% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Ireland’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 26.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Ireland’s pharma industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Johnson & Johnson posted 6 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 200% over the previous month, followed by ICON with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. MerckInc with 3 IT jobs and Eurofins Scientific with 3 jobs, recorded a 25% decline and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Pfizer recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.72%, down by 31.82% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.59% share, registered a decline of 27.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.69% share, up 100% over August 2022.
