The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 13.71% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 9.98% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 1.97% growth over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts tops Merck IT hiring in September 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Merck, Computer and Information Analysts emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 43.08% in September 2022, and a 26.32% drop over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 26.15% in September 2022, and registered flat growth. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 21.54% in September 2022, a 22.22% drop from August 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Merck
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global pharma IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 50.77% share, which marked a 40% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 27.69%, registering a 125% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 21.54% share and a 6.67% drop over August 2022.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 43.08% share in September 2022, a 46.15% decline over August 2022. US featured next with a 21.54% share, down 6.67% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 13.85% share, an increase of 350% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Merck IT hiring activity in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.92%, down by 11.9% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.23% share, a decline of 5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.85% share, down 47.06% over August 2022.
