The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during December 2021 over previous month.

MerckInc posted 3 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 50% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 3 jobs and a 200% growth. Myndlift with 2 IT jobs and Parexel International with 2 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 71.43% drop, respectively, while Abt Associates recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during December 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 33.33% share in December 2021, a 46.15% decrease over November 2021. Israel featured next with a 28.57% share, up 20% over the previous month. Malawi recorded a 9.52% share, a flat growth compared with November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.14%, up by 50% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.81% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 19.05% share, up 33.33% over November 2021.
