August 2022 has seen an increase of 6.16% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.48% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 38.46% in August 2022, a 52.38% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 30.77% in August 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 19.23% in August 2022, a 28.57% drop from July 2022.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 3.85% in August 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 88.89% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during August 2022 over previous month.
PSI CRO posted 6 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Parexel International with 5 jobs and a 66.67% growth. Jhpiego with 2 IT jobs and Takeda Pharmaceutical with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while CytoReason recorded a 66.67% decline with 2 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 38.46% share in August 2022, a flat growth over July 2022. South Africa featured next with a 26.92% share, up 16.67% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded an 11.54% share, a drop of 25% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.54%, down by 27.27% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 23.08% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.38% share, flat growth over July 2022.
