June 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.87% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.92% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 35.81% in June 2022, an 18.05% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.86% in June 2022, marking a 6.28% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.57% in June 2022, a 19.63% drop from May 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 9.33% in June 2022, a 25.27% decline over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.01% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Intermountain Healthcare posted 408 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 73.62% over the previous month, followed by Evolent Health with 256 jobs and a 58.37% drop. Johnson & Johnson with 150 IT jobs and The Hastings Center with 140 jobs, recorded a 219.15% rise and a 26.13% rise, respectively, while CVS Health recorded a 10.26% decline with 140 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 96.3% share in June 2022, a 12.66% decrease over May 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.95% share, down 14% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.75% share, a drop of 31.25% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.81%, down by 11.19% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.16% share, registered a decline of 4.53% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.68% share, down 27.92% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.34%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
