Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.09% in October 2022, a 45.51% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 18.7% in October 2022, marking a 48.29% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.64% in October 2022, a 37.25% drop from September 2022.

Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 25.36% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Evolent Health posted 166 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 57.44% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 151 jobs and a 12.72% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 126 IT jobs and Eurofins Scientific with 102 jobs, recorded a 24.55% drop and a 229.03% rise, respectively, while Hastings Center recorded a 2.41% increase with 85 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 95.5% share in October 2022, a 38% decrease over September 2022. Canada featured next with a 3.59% share, up 3.57% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.91% share, a growth of 37.5% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.21%, down by 39.56% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.17% share, registered a decline of 40.97% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.95% share, down 18.39% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.66%, recording a month-on-month growth of 23.08%.
