Switzerland’s pharma industry registered a 16.9% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.22% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.68% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry in October 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 31.91% in October 2022, registering a 57.14% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 27.66% share, a decrease of 55.17% over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 23.4%, registering a 120% rise from September 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.64%, up 400% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 32.79% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Octapharma posted 20 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 61.54% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 9 jobs and a 200% growth. Idorsia Pharmaceutical with 5 IT jobs and Johnson & Johnson with 5 jobs, recorded a 150% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while CompuGroup Medical SEKGaA recorded a decline of 50% with 2 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80.85%, down by 44.12% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 10.64% share, registered an increase of 400% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.51% share, up 33.33% over September 2022.
