Switzerland’s pharma industry registered a 47.7% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 10.96% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.99% share in September 2022, recording an increase of 0.79% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry in September 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 47.83% in September 2022, registering a 106.25% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 40.58% share, an increase of 180% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 7.25%, registering a 37.5% decline from August 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 1.45%, down 66.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 186.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Octapharma posted 52 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 188.89% over the previous month, followed by CompuGroup Medical SEKGaA with 4 jobs and a flat growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 3 IT jobs and Idorsia Pharmaceutical with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 33.33% decrease, respectively, while Merck recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 95.65%, up by 100% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 2.9% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 1.45% share, flat growth over August 2022.
