US pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 3.0% in March 2022

The US’s pharma industry registered a 3.0% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.34% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.39% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.09% in March 2022, registering an 11.76% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 14.13% share, an increase of 19.78% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.24%, registering a 20.43% rise from February 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 12.85%, down 29.75% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 3.46% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Evolent Health posted 613 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 0.49% over the previous month, followed by Intermountain Healthcare with 460 jobs and a 1.29% drop. The Hastings Center with 198 IT jobs and CVS Health with 196 jobs, recorded a 51.15% growth and a 4.39% decrease, respectively, while Oak Street Health recorded a decline of 0.68% with 147 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.9%, up by 5.26% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.94% share, registered a decline of 0.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.29% share, up 10.11% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.86%, recording a month-on-month increase of 11.11%.
