Healthcare research and technology firm Clario has launched its Federated Identity Management (FIM) system to increase security and improve user experience.

The new FIM system has been developed for providing more secure and user-friendly authentication method for its clinical trial platform.

It allows users to use the same credentials to login across different systems and organisations and helps manage access to online resources and services, while improving security by reducing the need for multiple accounts and passwords.

The system allows users to enforce their own security policies across the Clinical Platform of Clario.

This provides better control over access to data, and compliance with data protection regulations, such as HIPAA and GDPR.

Clients can use their login credentials for accessing Clario’s service offerings, by direct integration of external identity providers into the Clario FIM System.

FIM allows clients to have complete autonomy over the security of their account credentials. It also simplifies access of information for users.

Clario chief technology, information and product officer Jay Ferro said: “Keeping data secure during clinical trials is essential to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA.

“Federated Identity Management ensures clinical trial data entrusted to Clario is secured through state of the art industry standards like multi-factor authentication, allowing ease of use and compliance with regulations while also being seamless, secure and easy to use for our clients and clinical trial staff.”

The company stated that its FIM system allows users to seamlessly access information at enabled vendor sites without requiring further credentials.
