As clinical trials grow increasingly complex and globalised, industry leaders continue to reassess how outsourcing models can drive efficiency and innovation. These themes will be central at the 16th annual Outsourcing in Clinical Trials (OCT) East Coast conference, taking place May 20–21, 2025, at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
This year’s agenda reflects the growing complexity of clinical trial operations and the expanding role of outsourcing in managing that complexity. A primary focus will be on strategies to improve the efficiency of clinical operations, with sessions exploring supplier relationship management, financial oversight, and performance metrics. Particular attention will be paid to functional service provider (FSP) models and how outsourcing approaches can support greater diversity and inclusion in clinical trials.
A key session on day one of the conference will offer an insider’s perspective on how the Trump administration is shaping US healthcare policy, with a focus on regulatory shifts, industry oversight, and policy priorities. Patrick Ronan, operating partner at private equity firm ArchiMed will provide updates on key priorities and opportunities, and the impact of staffing and budget cuts at health agencies.
Technology will also be a central theme, with discussions on the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and remote data capture in clinical research. Several sessions will examine the use of digital tools for patient engagement and internal analytics, as well as data governance practices critical to ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.
The program will include analysis of challenges in emerging therapeutic areas such as gene therapy and vaccines. Topics such as regulatory preparedness, the development of Centers of Excellence for gene therapy and vaccines, and compliance in fast-moving scientific fields will also be addressed.
Speakers from organisations including Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb, Endo Pharmaceuticals, and Otsuka are scheduled to participate in keynote talks, panel discussions, and roundtables designed to encourage knowledge sharing and debate.
