Selkirk Pharma has introduced a paradigm-shifting service, ClinFAST, for ensuring rapid small-volume clinical study materials delivery.
The service is designed to support clinical-stage biotech and pharmaceutical companies by providing a rapid small-volume fill/finish process for material supply.
The introduction of ClinFAST by Selkirk represents a significant advancement in addressing the challenges drug developers face in securing fill/finish capacity.
Traditional fill/finish services often see small-batch projects sidelined by larger contract manufacturing organisations, leading to extended waiting periods of six to 12 months, the company said.
ClinFAST claims to eliminate these issues by implementing parallel production processes and a templated approach to streamline every step from compounding to final release.
Selkirk minimises material sourcing lead times by maintaining an on-site inventory of International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-sized vials, filling assemblies, excipients, and stoppers.
Additionally, the company provides the “flexibility” for clients to include their materials, ensuring compatibility with the ClinFAST process.
ClinFAST is said to offer materials required for the trial in a very short period and can handle up to 10,000 vials suitable for Phase I and II trials. It also claims to have a high-yield processing with equipment that minimises line loss.
Furthermore, the service offers scalability, supporting clients from clinical trials to commercial-scale manufacturing.
Through ClinFAST, Selkirk is focused on meeting critical clinical timelines.
Selkirk Pharma CEO Colleen Dixon said: “In clinical drug development, time is everything. Delays in sterile fill/finish can mean missed trial milestones and significant financial setbacks. ClinFAST represents a significant advancement in our ability to ensure biotech and pharma companies can access the high-quality drug product manufacturing they need—without the typical wait times.
“Our experienced team, best-in-class equipment, and commitment to excellence mean our clients can trust us to help them stay on track and bring life-saving treatments to patients faster.”
