Takeda Pharmaceutical and Bayer are the top Future of Work innovators in the clinical trial operations sector in the last quarter. The companies filed four Future of Work-related patents each in the three months ending December. For Takeda, this was up from zero over the same period in 2020.

They were followed by Novartis, Merck, and Viatris at two patent applications each.

That said, research and innovation in future of work in the clinical trial operations sector has declined in the last year.

The most recent figures show that the number of Future of Work related patent applications in the industry stood at six in the three months ending December – down from 12 over the same period in 2020.
