Africa has seen a 425% increase in the number of dermatology trials taking place over the past decade, the largest increase for any region worldwide.

The region now ranks in first for the total number of trials taking place, compared to its second placed ranking in 2010.

Iran saw the largest percentage of trials taking place in the region at 84.5%.

North America

Despite being placed fifth, North America still saw an increase in the number of dermatology trials.

The region saw a 52% increase in the number of trials.

The United States made up 77% the largest proportion of trials taking place in the region.

Canada and Mexico also made up a large amount of the trials taking place with 20.4% and 2.6%, respectively.

South and Central America

South and Central America saw the biggest decrease in dermatology trials.

The number of trials in the region fell by 6% between 2010 and 2020.
