Australia’s pharma industry registered a 20.4% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 12.8% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.34% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 29.09% in August 2022, registering a 20% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.64% share, an increase of 116.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 18.18%, registering a 100% rise from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 16.36%, up 28.57% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 181.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Ministry of Health, New South Wales, Australia posted 34 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 277.78% over the previous month, followed by Planet Innovation with 3 jobs and a 200% growth. Ramsay Health Care with 3 IT jobs and BIOCAD with 3 jobs, recorded a 40% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while CSL recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.36%, up by 20% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.55% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, flat growth over July 2022.
