China’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity flat growth in May 2022

China’s pharma industry registered a flat growth in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.39% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.79% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 78.26% in May 2022, registering a 50% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 8.7% share, a decrease of 55.56% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.52%, registering a 50% rise from April 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 4.35%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 140% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Parexel International posted 20 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 566.67% over the previous month, followed by Pfizer with 7 jobs and a 133.33% growth. MerckInc with 3 IT jobs and Novo Nordisk with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded a decline of 62.5% with 3 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.78%, up by 34.48% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 10.87% share, registered a decline of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.35% share, up 100% over April 2022.
