Europe witnessed a 1.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
March 2022 has seen a decrease of 0.6% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.21% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering an increase of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 60.23% in March 2022, an 18.89% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.18% in March 2022, marking a 9.52% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.7% in March 2022, a 17.82% drop from February 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.78% in March 2022, a 12.9% rise over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 76.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s pharma industry during March 2022 over previous month.
Bayer posted 66 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 3.13% over the previous month. PSI CRO with 61 IT jobs and GlaxoSmithKline with 50 jobs, recorded a 1933.33% rise and a 7.41% drop, respectively, while Sanofi recorded an 18.75% increase with 38 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s pharma industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 21.95% share in March 2022, a 51.14% increase over February 2022. The UK featured next with a 13.2% share, down 19.19% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 11.72% share, a growth of 14.52% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.05%, up by 8.36% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.91% share, registered a growth of 18.94% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.89% share, down 2.94% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.16%, recording a month-on-month growth of 16.67%.
