Germany’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity drops 8.6% in July 2022

Germany’s pharma industry registered an 8.6% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.24% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.57% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in July 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 34.78% in July 2022, registering a 77.78% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 28.26% share, a decrease of 48% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 26.09%, registering a 40% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.7%, down 76.47% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 16.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Schreiner MediPharm posted 7 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 600% over the previous month, followed by Merck with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. Bayer with 7 IT jobs and Boehringer Ingelheim International with 5 jobs, recorded a 30% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Eurofins Scientific recorded a decline of 73.68% with 5 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.26%, down by 35.71% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.39% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.35% share, down 66.67% over June 2022.
