India’s pharma industry registered a 0.9% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.59% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.9% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.51% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.26% in July 2022, registering a 9.26% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 23.55% share, an increase of 30% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.32%, registering a 19.05% decline from June 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.42%, down 38.1% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.7% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
AstraZeneca posted 50 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 12.28% over the previous month, followed by Bayer with 28 jobs and a 7.69% growth. Merck with 23 IT jobs and GSK with 22 jobs, recorded a 9.52% growth and an 8.33% decrease, respectively, while Eurofins Scientific recorded an increase of 5% with 21 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.64%, down by 4.86% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 39.49% share, registered a decline of 2.68% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.51% share, up 11.54% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.36%, recording a month-on-month decline of 94.44%.
