IT jobs accounted for a 3.69% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.86% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 71.43% in April 2022, a 23.08% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 28.57% in April 2022, marking a 20% month-on-month decline. In the third place was with a share of % in April 2022, a flat growth from March 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 175% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during April 2022 over previous month.

Parexel International posted 6 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by GlaxoSmithKline with 2 jobs and a 100% growth. Mediclinic International with 1 IT job and F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Sanofi recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 42.86% share in April 2022, a 100% increase over March 2022. Algeria featured next with a 21.43% share, flat growth over the previous month. Israel recorded a 14.29% share, a drop of 71.43% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
