Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 46.92% in May 2022, a 9.66% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.86% in May 2022, marking a 22.36% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.76% in May 2022, a 57.44% rise from April 2022.

Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 99.49% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Evolent Health posted 444 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 150.85% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 124 jobs and an 11.71% growth. The Hastings Center with 92 IT jobs and Bausch Health Companies with 83 jobs, recorded a 48.39% rise and a 277.27% rise, respectively, while Chenega recorded a 95.83% increase with 47 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 96.3% share in May 2022, a 3.47% decrease over April 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.79% share, down 38.95% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.91% share, a drop of 5% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.19%, down by 3.93% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.29% share, registered a decline of 23.55% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.13% share, up 30.92% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.38%, recording a month-on-month growth of 166.67%.
