South & Central America witnessed a 6.3% rise in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2021 has seen an increase of 2% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.02% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 71.43% in November 2021, a 94.44% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 12.24% in November 2021, marking a 40% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 6.12% in November 2021, a 40% drop from October 2021.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 6.12% in November 2021, a 62.5% decline over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 114.29% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Johnson & Johnson posted 14 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 180% over the previous month, followed by Hypera with 5 jobs and a 66.67% growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 4 IT jobs and GlaxoSmithKline with 4 jobs, recorded a 33.33% rise and a 33.33% rise, respectively, while Notre Dame Intermedica Participacoes recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 51.02% share in November 2021, a 92.31% increase over October 2021. Argentina featured next with a 30.61% share, up 150% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 12.24% share, a drop of 62.5% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.31%, up by 14.29% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 20.41% share, registered a growth of 42.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.29% share, down 12.5% over October 2021.
