Decentralised research platform and supporting services provider THREAD and digital technology company 1nHealth have formed a strategic collaboration to improve recruitment and retention outcomes in decentralised clinical trials (DCTs).
Under the partnership, THREAD’s ‘globally leveraged DCT platform will be integrated with 1nHealth’s global digital recruitment solution.
This integration will provide research organisations a ‘differentiated approach’ in implementing scalable and best-practice digital recruitment for decentralised clinical trials.
The DCT platforms work together to lower start-up timelines and increase enrolment effectiveness. They also ensure participant satisfaction.
THREAD Partnerships director Joss Warren said: “DCT approaches are enabling sponsors and CROs to reach a larger and more inclusive participant population. To successfully engage this broader population, an innovative, remote approach that reduces participant and site friction is necessary.

THREAD’s platform enables clinical trials to remotely capture data from participants and sites. It allows for faster completion of studies at reduced costs and maximised patient retention.
1nHealth uses a ‘proprietary platform and patient-centric technology’ that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to ‘customise outreach to target specific individuals’ instead of broad population subsets, when recruiting for clinical trials.

Under the terms of the strategic collaboration, 1nHealth joins THREAD’s ‘Patient Recruitment Partnership Programme’.
This programme is aimed at eliminating gaps in the DCT value chain, providing a comprehensive patient engagement experience, and aiding sponsors and CROs achieve their clinical trial goals.
It is also aimed at allowing study stakeholders to take advantage of simple contracting as well as pricing models.
Furthermore, THREAD recently added a ‘configurable, automated patient recruitment and onboarding solution’ to its DCT platform.
